Stanley Park
Stanley Park is a public park that lies along the downtown of Vancouver situated in British Columbia, Canada and is almost completely surrounded by the waters that comprise Vancouver Harbour as well as English Bay. The park has a long history and was among the first areas explored in the city. The area was utilized by indigenous peoples for centuries before it was Colonized by the British after 1858. The park's name comes from Lord Stanley from Preston who served as Governor General for Canada between 1888 and 1893. In his time, he was instrumental in establishing many important institutional spaces located in Vancouver such as Stanley Park. It was originally planned as a park of temperance, that would allow people to have picnics and be away from the raunchy and drunkenness that characterized the downtown. But, as time passed, it has grown to become one of Vancouver's most visited tourist spots with over 8 million visitors every year.
There are many different things to do in Stanley Park including the Vancouver Aquarium, Canadian First Nations Totem Poles, Brockton Point Lighthouse in addition to Lost Lagoon. The Aquarium is home to over 70000 animals, including stingrays sea turtles, sharks, and dolphins. Totem Poles Totem Poles were brought to Vancouver from several First Nations villages around British Columbia and are a representation of legends and stories from these cultures. This Brockton Point Lighthouse is one of the most storied lights in British Columbia and offers stunning views of the city skyline as well as North Shore mountains. Lost Lagoon is a man-made lake which is home to several species of birds and fish.
Capilano Suspension Bridge
It spans the length of 450 feet (137m) across and over 230 feet (70m) above Capilano River, the Capilano Suspension Bridge is one of Vancouver's top tourist attractions. The bridge was constructed in 1953 and is made of cable, with the deck made of wood. The bridge is slightly swaying as you walk across, providing stunning views of the river and canyon below.
The bridge is part of the Capilano Suspension Bridge Park that includes seven acres (2.8 hectares) of forest, with trails for hiking including The Treetops Adventure - a series of suspended bridges high in the canopy of the forest, and the Cliffwalk that offers a totally new view of the Capilano Canyon.
Vancouver Aquarium
Vancouver Aquarium Vancouver Aquarium is one of the most well-known attraction attractions for tourists in Vancouver and with reasons that are well-founded. The Aquarium is located in Stanley Park, the Aquarium is home to around 70,000 water animals from all over the world. The highlights include whales such as belugas dolphins, sea otters and sharks.
