Stanley Park
Stanley Park is a public park that borders the downtown area of Vancouver located in British Columbia, Canada and is almost completely surrounded by the waters of Vancouver Harbour and English Bay. The park has a long and rich history and was among the first areas that was explored in the city. The park was used by indigenous people for centuries prior to when it was Colonized by the British at the time of 1858. The park was named in honor of Lord Stanley from Preston who served as the Governor General of Canada from 1888 until 1893.
